My Halloween Costume

So during the half term I almost started a blog because I really want to talk about my halloween costume. This year I was invited to a party and we all had to dress up, I couldn't for the life of me think of anything I really wanted to do which I could afford etc. I actually decided on my costume while getting my hair done two days before halloween, I decided I really wanted to be Black Swan.

For anyone who has never heard of Black Swan, it is a movie about a ballet dancer who must play both the black evil swan and the perfect white swan and she is defiantly more of the white swan so I suppose you could say the movie is her becoming more like the black swan... I'm really not sure how to describe it so here's the link for the trailer if you're at all curious

Anyway, the white swan has this amazing face make up

I got extremely excited and immediately started watch tutorials and such to try and get a general idea of how to achieve this. I'm not going to go through step by step how I did it but I'll talk to you about a few things which might help  any of you aspiring swans.

I planned to use gel eyeliner for the black and I as thought it would be easier to use to fill in such a large space. So I went out and bought a cheap one as although I have been told that Bobbi Brown's Long Wear Gel Eyeliner is the best one I really didn't feel like spending £17 without being sure I liked gel eyeliner generally. So I bought 17 Smoulder Gel Eyeliner, I think I will do a full review of it soon as I didn't actually like it very much, however I want to try a different gel eyeliner before.
3.99)

For the glittery, metallic areas I used a light blue metallic-coloured cream eye shadow and lots of different gillter eyeliners in blue, green, silver, basically any ones I had lying around from my Shout Magazine buying faze when I was in year 7 and 8. However, I did use a eyeliner from Topshop which I absolutely love. It's called 'Infinite' and its a lovely silvery metallic colour.

For the lips any dark purple or red is lovely, I used a wine colour from Lancome's 'Coffret de Maquillage'
However, I think either 'Beguiled' or 'Hazard' from Topshop lipsticks would work perfectly.
(both £8)

Here are a few pictures of how mine turned out:

Thanks for reading, have a lovely day!
